How To Motivate Your Child To Do Homework
Time: 9:00 - 11:00am
Target Group: for all parents
Fees: $2.00
Most children don't like to do homework. After a long day of school, a child usually wants to play. Unfortunately, class work isn't enough to help get good grades. The most important thing a parent can do to encourage children to do homework is to let the kids know that we understand that doing homework is not necessarily enjoyable and it isn't a fun thing to do. Empathy goes
a long way with children, as they will respect us for being honest.
In today's competitive academic world, it is crucial to help our children develop effective study skills. Having brought up two kids, I know this can be a challenge, but starting early and encouraging a positive attitude toward school and homework helps.
Of course, a good attitude always begins with you. Whether you realize it or not, your child will adopt your attitudes and coping styles. In the talk, we will look at ways in which we can help change the attitudes of our children towards doing homework and completing their assignments on time too.
Understanding why our children don’t like doing homework, What parents say…
1. Changing our children’s attitude towards homework
2. How we can provide our children a conducive learning environment
3. Teaching our children effective ways to handle homework
